Manage Conflict

Conflict is a fact of life. Like many other things in life, conflict itself is neither good nor bad. How we manage conflict determines whether it results in productive outcomes - like improved relationships, productivity, creativity, teamwork, and a more positive work environment - or in outcomes that undermine our efforts in very costly ways.

Iron Scaffold professionals are leaders in the conflict management field. We are:

  • mediators who can help you resolve conflict so that everyone benefits
  • facilitators who can help your teams work more efficiently and productively
  • coaches who can work one-on-one with you or others on your team to help you manage conflict more effectively
  • trainers who can offer workshops and seminars to equip your team with practical skills for conflict management, negotiation, and collaboration
Kate Stewart, PhD, is the Executive Director of the University of Texas Project on Conflict Resolution. She has taught Negotiation in the MBA and MPA programs in the Graduate Business School and Mediation in the College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin and other leading universities. She was former vice president of Chorda Conflict Management, Inc., a leading provider of early dispute resolution systems and conflict management services.

Dr. Stewart's book (2010, co-authored with Dr. Madeline Maxwell), addresses narrative mediation as a form of conflict resolution.
